Volunteer Opportunities

Sci-Guide:

Help our visitors get the most out of their experience by providing them with information and orientation and being available for questions and problem-solving. Also assist visitors with our hands-on exhibits to facilitate learning and create memorable, action-oriented experiences. A real opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge!

Program Assistant:

Help in a variety of fun, informal workshops and camps for children preschool age through sixth grade. Assist the educator and interact with the children during structured education programs.

Party Helper:

Help our Party Hostess in throwing the coolest birthday parties. Birthday party volunteers help provide a fun and safe experience to families and guests having birthday parties. Duties include birthday party set-up and clean-up and serving as a guest greeter.

Science Shop Helper:

Volunteers in The Science Shop assist curious minds by helping with merchandising, pricing and restocking products and providing exceptional customer service. We particularly need volunteers in The Science Shop during busy school group visits and on weekends. This is a position for volunteers who like to talk with the public and promote our interesting science related merchandise.

Office Assistant:

Use your special talents to help us in our offices. You can help on a variety of levels, from answering the phone, filing and faxing to coordinating mailings, doing data entry and generating creative computer work. See how Sci-Quest works behind the scenes!

Special Events:

Volunteers assist staff with event set-up, refreshment services and clean-up, as well as work at activity stations and at the front desk as a greeter. Annual special events include: Hands On Trucks (September), Spooktacular Science (October weekends), Member Events (twice a year), and traveling exhibits.
